AliExpress Online Shopping

Want to do your online shopping on AliExpress, but don’t know how? In this blog we’ll walk you through the steps needed.

AliExpress Shopping – What to Keep in Mind

In theory, online shopping on AliExpress seems straightforward: you choose your item on the Chinese marketplace called AliExpress, place your order and pay for it. Easy right? But it there are still some things to keep in mind while doing your AliExpress shopping. We’ll clarify some things surrounding this process in this blog.

Online shopping on AliExpress is a bit different than on other webstores like Amazon or Etsy. You’ll need to keep a few things in mind, for example which payment method do you want to use? Or another thing to decide: what type of shipping do I want for my AliExpress shopping? There are various answers for both questions, that will be discussed in other articles in depth.

Shopping on AliExpress for Products

Shopping on AliExpress is easy as pie when using the search function of the site to find your items. Once you’ve found what you want or need, simple choose them and place them in your shopping cart. You’ll have two choices: “Add to shopping cart” or “Buy now”. If you’re done with your online shopping on AliExpress, click on “Buy now” and you’ll be redirected to the payment page to pay for your item(s), and you’re done!

Ordering Your AliExpress Online Shopping

Of course, you’ll want to order and pay for items at the most reliable and cheapest seller on AliExpress. If you want to know more about the reliability and safety of doing your shopping on AliExpress, you can read the next blog for more in-depth information surrounding this topic.
Once you’ve found an item you’d like to have, take a look at the delivery time. Sometimes it can take up to 7 weeks, but there are sellers who can deliver your package within 3 weeks. So, it’s best to keep in mind in advance when you need the product to be delivered. If you need your AliExpress online shopping delivered within 5 weeks or quicker, don’t order any items or products that have longer shipping times.

Another thing to keep in mind is that orders with high value can be intercepted by customs for import tax or customs duty. To avoid this, make sure your order from one seller is below £15 (UK), euro 22, or if you are located in the US, cross your fingers that the postal agency won’t notice the package! Most of the time small orders slip through the customs net fairly unnoticed, so if you are doing shopping on AliExpress, do it in small batches!

Be certain that you are logged in when you are doing your AliExpress online shopping. Otherwise you might miss certain promo’s or coupons sent specifically to your account. If you don’t have an account, you can easily create one via email address or with your Facebook account. Create a password and log in.

Confirmation of Your AliExpress Online Shopping

Once you’ve got all your AliExpress shopping in your shopping cart, it’s time to place the order. Check your personal details, make sure they are correct! A little tip from us: also check your phone number, because you’ll need to also enter a country code in the first field. The country code for the UK is +44, for the USA it’s +1. You can then fill the remaining numbers of your phone number in the second field. We’ve often seen this go wrong, so take care! Another thing to double check is if your address is listed correctly, otherwise your AliExpress shopping might not arrive!

Paying for Your AliExpress Online Shopping

After checking all your details, you’ll end up at the payment screen. If you have any coupons or discount codes, this is the time to use them for your AliExpress shopping. After that, simply choose your payment method and complete the transaction. Nowadays you can also pay without needing a credit card. If you choose to pay with PayPal, you will be redirect to another screen to login to your PayPal account. We’ve written a blog specifically for AliExpress payments with PayPal if you need extra help with this step. Once the payment is done, you’ll receive a confirmation email. And that’s all there is to ordering your AliExpress shopping online.
